Hello! My name is Ester Araujo and I am an artist currently based in the Charleston area of South Carolina. I received a BFA in Fibers from the Savannah College of Art and Design in 2020.

After graduating I worked as a textile designer, creating prints and graphics for Kohls Inc. I have since left the corporate world to pursue my lifelong dream of working as a fine artist.

My work is inspired by the resilience and complexity of the natural world. The methods I use to execute my ideas are heavily influenced by textile processes including weaving, spinning, dyeing, and printing. I explore connections between rhythms in nature, woven patterns, and mark making. Like building a textile, thread by thread, I layer hundreds of brush strokes to mimic both the movement of fabric and undulating blades of grass.
